Or the perambulatory perils of ancient pyramids
On a trip to Mexico for a much needed holiday I was told by one of the guides that you are no longer allowed to climb on this stunning pyramid. When I asked why, I was told an American tourist threatened to sue the Mexican government when she fell and injured her ankle while climbing it.
Why was she suing? There were no handrails installed.
I have seen countless blogs from tourists complaining at the lack of 'safety precautions' in many Mexican archeological and historic sites - the vast majority from litigious Americans.
Now, I have nothing against tourism or Americans, but please, people, get a life!
